Parents visited KOHMU’s sport session
FIMU’s local partner KOHMU association held an informal parents meeting on February 3rd. Parents were given basic information on the PLAY project, as well as its goals and working methods. They were also present at the sport sessions watching the young volunteers instruct 10-14-year-old children in basketball. The life skills practiced during the session were team work and respecting the team members.
Parents set high value on easy access sport, as sport as a hobby can be very expensive in Finland. They also felt that addressing life skills such as respect in sport sessions was more important for teenage youngsters than smaller children.
