PLAY! training camp held in Rosolina Mare
The Italian coastal town of Rosolina Mare welcomed the PLAY! training camp between 30 May and 1 June, which consisted of a unique opportunity to share achievements and methodology used in the project’s different countries to promote sports for school success and social inclusion.
The international gathering brought together all PLAY! partners as well as Youth Active Groups (YAGs) from Finland, Italy, Slovenia and Spain.
The camp’s activities kicked-off of on Wednesday 30 May with a bike tour around Tizé village – the camp facilities – and Rosolina Mare, followed by an afternoon of activities aimed at getting the YAGs to know each other and work in different groups.
The following day was marked by a conference open to the public, where experts, decision-makers and representatives from sports organisations heard from ASSIST Associazione Nazionale Atlete on the role of sport for gender equality, and learned about the Veneto Region policies and plans on sport, education and inclusion.
Over the two first days, each partner and respective YAGs presented and held demonstrations on the methodology used in their training sessions, while sharing the experiences on the challenges and outcomes of their work with the beneficiaries.
The third and last day of the camp involved a coordinators meeting, in which partners exchanged the first feedback and evaluation of the camp, shared the ouctomes of the first YAGs trainings and pilot and discussed the planning of the upcoming months of work.
