FIMU’s local partner KOHMU association held an informal parents meeting on February 3rd. Parents were given basic information on the PLAY project, as well as its goals and working methods. They were also present at the sport sessions watching the young volunteers instruct 10-14-year-old children in basketball. The life skills practiced during the session were team work and respecting the team members.
Parents set high value on easy access sport, as sport as a hobby can be very expensive in Finland. They also felt that addressing life skills such as respect in sport sessions was more important for teenage youngsters than smaller children.
MSV YAGs team after the first session realised in 2018 is coming out with the 2nd Pilot Edition dedicated to time with job analytics, personalised through a single athlete.
The ability to work in groups has given excellent results in the choice of the training plan through Basket Music. The effort of the MSV YAGs Team will be to increase the quality level of a young athlete's performance and at the same time increase the level of self-esteem in each single YAGs. In this pilot we will create the necessary tools to improve the relationship between parents and athletes. In the same period MSV is open new selection for other 5 YAGs volunteers that will add with the other 10 that have started exactly one year before.
